BURY-born footballer Kieran Trippier has earned his first call-up to the England squad.
The Spurs defender, who grew up in Summerseat and went to Woodhey High School, will join up with the Three Lions for next month's matches against Scotland and France.
Trippier, aged 26, who started his career at Manchester City and played for Burnley before moving to White Hart Lane for £3.5million in June 2015, is part of a 25-man squad announced by manager Gareth Southgate today.
He will be available for selection for England's World Cup qualifier at Hampden Park on Saturday, June 10, and a friendly at Stade de France three days later.
The right-back made 22 appearances for Spurs over the past season, helping them finish second in the Premier League and reach the semi-finals of the FA Cup.
