NINE members of Tottington Sea Anglers' Club travelled to Weymouth for a two-day fishing trip on the charter boat Fish On last weekend.

On Saturday they ventured out to fish the shipwrecks in the English Channel and had had a great day catching well over 100 pollock with weights between 7lb and 14lbs, John Wensley catching the biggest pollock of 14lbs.

On Sunday they decided to fish in shore for surdog, smoothhound, turbot and bullhuss.

Martin Colligan and Gary Spencer caught the biggest spurdog.

Only one small turbot was caught but many good-sized spurdog, up to approximately 18lbs were caught, along with a few smoothhound and bullhuss.

The anglers said it was one of the best trips for many a year and all went home with coolboxes full of fillets of fish.
