RADCLIFFE runners found themselves among the prizes when they took part in the trial Prestwich 5k Tough Run from Sedgley Park Rugby Club.

In a small field they all enjoyed the challenging course in Prestwich Clough and Philips Park and hope the Prestwich AC event will become a regular race.

Craig Norman, Donna Cartwright, Karen Doherty, Iain Harris and Andy Wheeler took part with junior Ryan Norman taking his first win in the 2k Tough Run.

Craig Norman was first home in 22mins 14secs with Cartwright coming in third overall and first woman in 25:19.

Wheeler ran 35:25, Doherty 36:15 and Harris 39:41.

Eight Radcliffe runners faced scorching conditions at The Windmill Half Marathon on Sunday.

On what was billed as a fast, flat course Dave Rushton was first home for the club in 1:44:05.

From Marl Pits, Rawtenstall  runners were showered in coloured powder as they passed through colour stations along the way.

The fun event was supporting Rossendale Hospice.
