TAKING the time to fill in a questionnaire while waiting for his luggage at the airport could see Colin Stephenson and three fellow Bury Golf Club members tee off in Florida.

Last September Colin was celebrating his 60th birthday and went to the Algarve on a golfing holiday.

He killed a few moments at Faro Airport while waiting for his luggage by completing a questionnaire for travel firm Travelbags.

“I never thought any more about it until I received an email congratulating me and inviting me to play at Tytherington in June,” he said.

Colin rounded up a four-strong team with Kevin Speight, Bury Golf Club president Ian Marsh and assistant steward at the Blackford Bridge, Tony Brazier, and the foursome were winners of the eight-club tournament in East Cheshire.

Victory – or even a runners-up spot – in the final round in this country, at Frilford in Oxford will see them pack their bags to head for a week’s golfing at Shingle Creek in Orlando.
