EDENFIELD went joint second in the Ribblesdale League with victory at Blackburn Northern.

Northern slumped from 61-2 to 81 all out, with Bill Slinger 4-10 and Babar Naeem 4-35 doing the damage.

In reply, pro Naeem hit an unbeaten 55 to seal a five-wicket victory.

Edenfield made it a double celebration when they beat Settle by three wickets the following day to book their place in the Twenty20 final on Bank Holiday Monday, August 25, at Edenfield.

In the Bolton League, Greenmount enjoyed a thrilling win against leaders Egerton at Brandlesholme Road.

Chasing a rain-revised total of 188 in 42 overs, the Bury side crept home by just one wicket. Ashar Zaidi struck 77 to pave the way for victory, while Ammar Baig added 42.

Pro Zaidi earlier took 4-68 in Egerton’s 223-6.

Daisy Hill’s march towards the Bolton Association title continued apace with a five-wicket victory over lowly Elton, who were dismissed for 137.

Waiting for Daisy Hill to slip up are Walshaw, who consolidated second spot with a narrow victory over Darcy Lever.

In another rain-affected match, Darcy Lever, chasing 183 for victory, finished agonisingly short on 180-9.

Walshaw were indebted to Jon Fielding (49) and Mark Dentith (31) in their 191-8.

Third-placed Ramsbottom kept the pressure on the Lancashire League leaders by beating Colne.

Phil Hayes (37), Richard Rothwell (34) and Shane Harwood (42) were among the runs in Rammy’s 225-8. Mike Haslam claimed 3-38 in the 43-run triumph.
