TENNIS: HOLCOMBE Brook juniors dominated the 14 and under group at the two-day Trafford Park Junior Tennis Tournament, winning five of the six trophies.
Star of the event was 13-years-old Sarah Kidd, who won the girls doubles title with her National Club League partner, Rachel Blackledge from Southport.
Sarah, from Bury, then went on to win an exciting mixed doubles final with her clubmate and friend Charlie Foley, also 13, from Turton.
After the round robin format the pair won a tense final that went to the wire. They eventually claimed victory in a tiebreak shootout, winning by 10-7.
In the singles event on the second day Charlie beat his Holcombe doubles partner Alec Foote in the boys final, again, tying one set all before winning another tiebreak shoot out 10-7.
The pair had previously lost in the boys doubles at the semi-final stage.
Sarah then completed a personal treble in emphatic style by winning the girls singles, beating Lauren Gilfoyle from Wigan to complete an exhausting but highly successful tournament for the Brook pair.
