Shakers cut child ticket prices to just £1

LOCAL children are being encouraged to get down to watch Bury FC on Saturday after the club cut ticket prices for their game against Barnet to just £1 for under-16s.

Anyone purchasing a full priced adult ticket will qualify for the ‘kid for a quid’ offer. Season ticket holders will be asked to relinquish a voucher from their season ticket book in exchange for a ticket for £1.

The tickets must, however, be bought in advance from the Gigg Lane ticket office right up until kick-off on Saturday. The offer also applies to Barnet fans.

The match will see Bury players wear special edition shirts to celebrate their 125th anniversary, and supporters have the chance to buy the matchworn tops on ebay after the game. All funds raised from the sale will be donated to the children’s ward at Fairfield Hospital in time for Christmas.

The new 2010 calendar will also be on sale before the game, priced at just £9.99. The special edition shirt will also be sold at £20, with supporters getting this season’s away shirt for half-price if they purchase it.

Commercial Director Mark Catlin said: “Bury FC will be doing all that it can to support Alan Knill and the team’s push for promotion, but of more importance is that Shakers fans reciprocate and show their support for what we are trying to do.

“Everyone at the club fully appreciates the support given by the fans, and all that we ask is our supporters see the offers and pass this information on, maybe to friends that have not been to a game for a while, or even someone that has not ever been to a match before.

“The more successful these promotions are the bigger appetite the club will have in putting on further promotions, and success will be gauged by how many attend. I urge each and every fan that knows someone who likes football to get them down to Gigg Lane for our next home game, you can make a difference.”
