RADCLIFFE AC’s Donna Cartwright continued her preparations for next month’s Coniston Marathon with impressive runs in two fell races.
Cartwright finished third in the 4.5 mile Bamford Sheepdog Trials Fell Race and led home four clubmates to again finish third in Sunday’s Edenfield Fell Race in a time of 59mins 46secs.
Rachael Stoney was fourth woman home 62.30. Steve Hamer (V50), who had run a midweek race, clocked 68.45, with Kath Davies finishing first V45 in 69.42 and Eileen Royle running a gutsy 79.32 to finish first V60.
Hamer had earlier clocked an impressive 57.45 in the six-mile Henderson’s End Fell Race at Rivington.
Vet 60 John Kirkham was 83rd of 150 competitors when he ran the 10k Badger Trail Race at Cuerden Country Park, South Ribble, finishing second in his age category in 52.01.
