BURY ABC youngsters Muhammed Ali and Sahir Iqbal added the British crown to their recently acquired English titles during a busy weekend of action for Mick Jelley’s charges.

Iqbal, aged 17 stopped his Scot Andrew Tham in the 60k division at the Three Nations clash between England, Scotland and Wales in Swansea.

Ali, aged 16, fighting at 52k, beat his opponent Stephen Boyle convincingly, 23-11, to take his UK crown.

Meanwhile, ABC boss Jelley took five of his lads to Glasgow’s Drumchapel Leisure Centre and four of them tasted victory.

Eleven-year-old Zane Ahmed beat Sean Henry of Wellmedow ABC with a unanimous points decision and there was the same outcome for Kaleem Hill, aged 13, who defeated Ryan Gardener of host club Argo ABC at 43k.

Ibrahim Nadim, 14, also won unanimously when he took on Argo lad Tony Morton at 36k, as did Faizan Ahmed, 15, when he beat Morton’s club-mate Kieran Smith at 46k.

There was disappointment, however, for Ajmal Hayat, 24, at 74k when he walked on to a big punch from Argo’s Stephen Nstami.
