THREE Bury ABC boxers have won gold medals at the Box Cup in Dungannon, Northern Ireland.
All four of head coach Mick Jelley’s contenders won through in their bouts on the first day.
After winning his semi-final, 29year-old-Brian Rennie, fighting at 71 kilos, was beaten by Army fighter D Roache on points. Muhammud Ali, 17, beat Bridgewater (Manchester) contender S Masood to win his final with a unanimous points decision at 51k and Zahir Iqbal, also 17, also landed gold when overcame B Connelly, of Mayfield ABC, equally convincingly at 63k. Twenty-four-year-old Sarah Dunne, also won her final, beating K O’Sullivan, of Cork Boxing Squad.
