A young amateur boxer from Bury will compete in the youth championship final at Walkden Sixth Form Centre, Worsely, on Sunday.
Seventeen-year-old Muhammad Ali will fight it out with Kealan McFadden, from Brighton and Hove amateur gym, for the gold medal.
Ali stopped Shaba Ahmed from Ingles ABC in Sheffield in the first round of their semi-final bout last weekend, at the Croxteth Sports Centre in Liverpool.
Bury ABC coach Mick Jelley said: “Muhammad is a fantastic young boxer – one of the best I have ever coached. He has exceptional talent and will take some beating.”
His opponent, McFadden, has won seven and lost three of his 10 fights so far. His coach, Rob Purkis, admits he has exceeded expectations by getting this far.
