HASSAN Mahmood made it a hat-trick of Bury ABC boxers to qualify for the senior ABA championship finals weekend after a unanimous points victory.

The 20-year-old former national schoolboy champion made it into the quarter-finals by beating Haddenham boxer Pourie Sadjadi in the 52-56k division at the ARC Leisure Centre near Sheffield on Saturday.

He will join fellow Bury boxers Muhammad Ali – the European junior champion and world junior silver medallist – and reigning ABA champion Sarah Dunne at the finals weekend, which takes place at the Liverpool Echo Arena from Friday to Sunday, April 24-26.
