Bury ABC boxers Ali Akbar Javid and Zain Ahmed
BURY ABC fighters Zain Ahmed and Ali Akbar Javid will represent the region against Birmingham on Saturday in the quarter-finals of the national schoolboy championships in Croxteth.
Ahmed qualified after beating Marcus Whitman, of Sedbergh ABC, in the 46k division of the pre quarter-finals last weekend, while Akbar Javid won his 52k bout against Highfield's Edward Hardy.
Meanwhile, Sarah Dunne flew the flag for Bury ABC in the Eindhoven Box Cup, winning all three of her bouts, beating Germany's Katnn Huln in the final.
