BURY ABC boxer Ibrahim Nadim has booked a place in the quarter-finals of the National Association of Boys and Girls Clubs Championships.

The 17-year-old former finalist beat Luke Riley, of Gemini ABC, on points by a unanimous decision to win through in class C of the 46-49kg weight division.

His younger brother, Mohammed, aged 15, failed to make it a family double after losing on a unanimous decision to Mason Pearson, of Birkenhead Venture ABC in the 50kg class A division.

The next round will take place in Croxteth this weekend.

Club-mate Sarah Dunne, meanwhile, made her mark on the international stage at the weekend after earning a unanimous victory on points over Eftychia Kathopouli, of Glenrothes, in the 60k division in a match between England and Scotland in Birmingham.

She is due to travel to London this weekend to fight for the English belt, and has been picked for England duty again later this year in a match against Ireland in Dublin.
