BURY ABC boxer Sarah Dunne progressed to the Amateur Boxing Association (ABA) quarter-finals in London after a unanimous points decision last weekend.

Fighting at 60-64kg at Huddersfield Leisure Centre, Dunne beat Shaunna Gerrold, of St Vincents ABC in Sheffield.

It has been a busy spell for Bury ABC boxers and coach Mick Jelley which started on Easter Monday with three bouts at the Audley Leisure Centre in Blackburn.

Ten-year-old Reece Khan had a skills bout at 27kg and beat Jason Bubbins from Clayton ABC.

Cole Gaynor, aged 16, then won a unanimous points decision at 64kg against Owen Smith (Stubbies ABC).

Finally, 15-year-old Stephen Brown, also fighting at 64kg, won unanimously on points against Callum Worts (Ribble Vally ABC).

Last Thursday, another three youngsters were in action at the Mercure Hotel in Bradford.

Reece Khan took on Tayib Zahid (Warrior ABC), 14-year-old Salus Price, at 32kg, fought Hassan Zafar (Round One ABC) and 15-year-old Uzair Khan, fighting at 46kg, faced Isa Mahmood (Round One ABC).

Finally, on Saturday at the Bowlers Exhibition Centre in Manchester, 15-year-old Patrick Gaynor, fighting at 57kg, had a unanimous points triumph against T Jervis, of Centurions ABC.
