PIETER Malan hit his third successive unbeaten innings in the eioghties to help Ramsbottom complete the double over East Lancs with a seven wicket win at Acre Bottom. The home professional hit eight fours and a six in making an unbeaten 86.

He added 109 for the second wicket with Tom Parton, who hit seven fours in making 61. Skipper Jon Fielding had earlier taken 5-49 to dismiss East Lancs for 160. Visiting professional Ockert Erasmus made an unbeaten 50 with four fours and a six after openers Dan Lord (a league best 42) and Michael Timmis (7) had put on 60.

Erasmus and Minhaj Bhada (25) added 40 but wickets tumbled with no other player making double figures.

Rammy’s match at Colne on Sunday was abandoned. The home side made 126-9 when rain arrived after 42 overs. Fielding took 4-34 to pass 50 wickets for the season and wicketkeeper Tom Parton also claimed five victims.
