STAND made the short trip to derby rivals Woodbank on Saturday but came away empty handed.

Asked to field first Matt Curphey bowled openers Webb and Loster to leave the Woodbank score at 20-2.

Jack Walmsley then dismissed dangermen David Bell (20), brother of Stand’s Alex, and Collins (18) – both lbw – as the hosts limped to 56-4.

Mark Stringer and Nick Kennedy staged a mini revival before the latter was bowled by Walmsley.

A vital 82-run partnership between Stringer and Hamnett swayed the balance helping the innings to 232.

Walmsley finished with 4-92, while Curphey ended with 6-63.

Alex Bell and Sean Brookes got the Stand innings off to an excellent start adding 71 for the first wicket, before Bell fell for 39.

Dave Taylor and Pete Walters put on 100 runs for the fourth wicket but a lower-order collapse left them 14 runs short.
