RAMSBOTTOM finished their Lancashire League campaign in fourth place after beating Church by seven wickets at Acre Bottom.
Rammy wicketkeeper Tom Parton also entered the record books by becoming the third wicketkeeper to do the double of 500 runs and 50 victims in a season. Parton's dismissal of Harvey Aspin off Michael Haslam (2-24) was the historic moment. Sam Halstead took 5-41 and Andy Hakin 3-9 to dismiss Church for 83. Adam Greenwood’s 25 was the only notable resistance. Parton (27) and Harry Dearden (19) put on 47 and sub professional Fahid Rehman made an unbeaten 15 to see Ramsbottom home in the 17th over.
