THE stumps have only just been pulled up for the season, but Prestwich Cricket Club is starting its hunt for fresh blood.

The club, based off Heys Road, is looking to strengthen at all levels for the 2014 season.

Whilst the junior ranks are healthy, the club’s three senior teams have lost several adult players over the last couple of seasons.

The first team has already lost the services of Danny Jones, who has taken a job working in Dubai, and will be without Tousif Miran next year, who is similarly set to move abroad.

Their fourth-place finish in the Lancashire County League again qualifies the team for next year’s Lancashire Cup, in which they reached this year’s quarter-final.

The team captains of Andy Bradley (1sts), Peter Lorenzini (2nds) and Brian Ahern (3rds) remain the same for next year. Training begins with indoor nets in February. Anyone interested in joining should e-mail info@pctbc.com or call 07850 947534.
