Bury cricketer Kate Cross has been named in the England squad for this month’s one-day and Twenty20 series with India and South Africa.
Cross, who last week added another piece of silverware to her Ashes success after helping Lancashire women’s side win the Division Two title, will play a two-day match against India at Loughborough starting on August 7, a 50-over match against India at Harrogate on August 18 and T20s against South Africa at Southend on August 29-30.
Walshaw-based Cross spearheaded the Red Rose to victory as the county picked up three bowling and three batting points against Staffordshire to be crowned champions and earn promotion to the top flight.
