Greenmount surprised second-placed Westhoughton in a reduced-over clash on Saturday.
The visitors reached 150-2 from their 34 overs with professional Akbar ur-Rehman (59 not out) and Ryan Senior (54no) putting on a third-wicket partnership of 115. Both wickets were taken by Atiq Uz-Zaman (2-63).
Pro Qaiser Abbas was again the star with the bat for the hosts, hitting an unbeaten 57.
But Mark Stewart (4-60) and Phil Heaton (3-54) restricted them to 122-7 and Greenmount won by 28 runs.
However, Andy Kerr’s team slipped to a four-wicket home defeat to Walkden on Sunday.
The hosts posted a meagre 88 with Phil Heaton’s unbeaten 27 the highest score.
Rafal Afridi top-scored with 57no as the visitors reached 92-6 to clinch victory.
