I WRITE in response to the article written by the Bolton Association, further to my article which appeared in The Bolton News earlier this week.

The Greater Manchester Leagues being brought together at the outset was as a result of clubs leaving their leagues to go into other leagues.

There was lack of engagement on these matters at the time from the LCB and vice versa.

I wished to address this lack of engagement with leagues on my appointment into my new role.

As a result of clubs leaving the Manchester and District Cricket Association, four clubs had no league to play in at the time.

These clubs were Bolton Indians Sports Club, Deane and Derby, Bolton and Newton Heath.

I am pleased to say league engagement is now the norm not the exception to avoid a similar situation to what happened with the M&DCA.

As previously mentioned we will continue to support the process the steering group is currently undertaking and at the same time respect the Bolton and District Cricket Association’s opinions on this matter, a league I feel we work more closer with than we have done previously.
