PROFESSIONAL Peter Betros hit his first century for Brooksbottom as he led the visitors to their second win on the bounce at Salesbury on Saturday.

Batting first, the Brox started well with captain Paul Hopton and Betros both finding the boundary.

Home professional Susantha Pradeep made life difficult by swinging the ball both ways and regularly hitting a ridge in the wicket.

The opening stand of 65 was broken by Pradeep who had Hopton (30) caught behind. The Brox middle-order struggled against Pradeep and only Betros managed to score consistently before he was caught on 101.

Pradeep finished with figures of 2-29 from his 16 overs as Brox totalled 183-6.

In reply, the Salesbury openers were kept quiet by the bowling of Mohsan and Zeb Qureshi.

Mohsan used the same ridge to his advantage and regularly threatened the batsmen.

Pradeep hit 74, but just as it looked like Salesbury would reach the target, he was brilliantly catch by Zeb Qureshi.

Wickets fell at regular intervals thereafter as Salesbury were bowled out for 147 with wickets shared between Mo Qureshi 2-48, Zeb Qureshi 2-40, David Brown 2-35 and Betros 3-14 as the Brox claimed a 36-run victory.
