WOODBANK will host the inaugural Archway GMCL20 finals day, on Sunday, July 24.

The Division One club have been drawn against Heywood, who are bottom of the top tier, in the second of the semi-finals.

Their T20 match will start at 2pm, while Premier League sides Clifton and Flixton will face off in the first tie from 10.30am.

The final will be held from 5.30pm.

Captain Anthony Harris said: "This is a massive honour for the club. To host the finals day is a great reward, not just for our success on the pitch but for all the effort and hard work put in behind the scenes.

"People like our cricket chairman Peter Hamer and club chairman Martyn Ward deserve this day.

"Judging by the crowd at Greenmount in the quarter-finals, they must have taken a fair bit of money behind the bar.

"That has been the biggest success of this tournament. It has brought back local games and the local-game atmosphere.

"That is the atmosphere we want to create at Woodbank in the final and I hope cricket fans from the Bury area come down to enjoy the day with us."

Woodbank were picked as host of the finals day ahead of Clifton and Flixton after lots were drawn. Heywood would have been unable to host the event due to prior commitments.
