MARK Rangeley provided the necessary spark to help the Lancashire Spinners beat winless Westminster Warriors 95-86 and end a two-game losing streak in the National League.
Rangeley hit a season's best 27 points, and scored back-to-back three-pointers and made a pivotal block deep in the fourth quarter to halt a late charge from the visitors.
Zion Tordoff added 16 points for the Spinners while Mike Bernard and David Walsh each scored 12.
Lancashire’s opening nine points came via three-pointers, but Westminster kept pace and were 41-39 up at half time.
But Rangeley, who scored 21 of his points in the last two quarters, ensured his birthday celebrations would not be dampened.
The Spinners turned it around to lead by five points after the third quarter and Rangeley inspired an 11-3 late in the game to put the result beyond doubt.
