Lancashire Lightning's floodlit NatWest Pro40 clash against Gloucestershire Gladiators at Old Trafford this afternoon has been abandoned.

After 24 hours of heavy rain at Old Trafford, the umpires have just announced that this evening’s match has been abandoned.

Rain did stop two hours ago and the ground staff have been working extremely hard to get some play underway. But the outfield is sodden through and the umpires have deemed it too unsafe to play-on this evening.

Spectators are able to exchange their ticket for a ticket to another Lancashire NatWest Pro40 or LV County Championship match this season.

To claim a replacement ticket, spectators need to send their ticket/s into the club within 28 days of today’s date: The Ticket Office, Dept R2008, Lancashire County Cricket Club, Old Trafford, Manchester, M16 0PX.

A spopkesman for Lancs said: "We this early announcement helps those traveling long distances; and along with Mother Nature is sorry for any inconvenience."
