UNSWORTH Cricket Club have confirmed that South African all-rounder Jonathan Fowler will be returning as pro for the 2012 season.
Fowler, pictured bowling, first joined the club as an amateur in the 2010 season, taking 69 wickets, and returned last year as pro when he took 87 wickets and scored more than 500 runs in all competitions.
His batting figures included three half centuries and a top score of 70 against league runners-up Middleton.
Fowler’s best bowling figures came in a match against Monton and Weaste, when he took 7-35.
He also terrorised strong Littleborough and Heywood batting line-ups in two of Unsworth’s most memorable victories last season.
Unsworth kick off their Central Lancashire Cricket League campaign with a trip to Monton & Weaste on April 15.
Winter nets for the under-18s and seniors teams take place from 9pm at Total Cricket in Ashton-under-Lyne every Tuesday up to April 3.
