A DROPPED catch was the deciding factor in the crunch-match at the foot of the Bolton Association table as Adlington succumbed to Elton in the final over.
Dexter Fitton top scored with 59 in the Elton run-chase, but he would have been gone for a duck if a sharp chance he offered at the start of his innings had stuck.
As it was, Eddie Haddon’s 33, Chris Mulligan’s 30 and Ben King’s 26 for Adlington proved in vain, as a total of 156-6 proved not to be enough in a game reduced to 41 overs because of the showers.
Elton pro Steve Holt did much of the damage in the Adlington innings with 4-76 while Fitton also took 2-43.
The Bury side were guided to victory by Abdeel Ali, who hit 33 not out and Holt was was also there at the end with 18 runs.
