BURY schoolgirls Chloe Fell and Ellie Gaunt are celebrating after winning a place in the Greater Manchester School of Excellence squad.

The nine-year-olds came through four weeks of trials to make the squad, and their first game is against Birmingham City at Salford Sports Village on Saturday.

Chloe, who attends Holcombe Brook County Primary School, is a versatile player who can perform in a number of positions, while Ellie, who is a pupil at Chesham County Primary School, is a goalkeeper.

The idea of the Greater Manchester squad is to eventually groom players for the full England team.
