Bury 4 Leyland & Chorley 2
Bury maintained the pressure on Morecambe at the top of the North West Summer League with a comfortable victory over Leyland and Chorley on Thursday.
A quick start saw new boy Toby Carr-Brown finish expertly into the bottom corner, before Simon Major doubled the lead with a fine reverse stick strike.
Shortly before half time, Leyland and Chorley got themselves back into the game, with a snap shot from the top of the circle, to set up a tense second half.
Bury, however, came out strongly in the second half, with a fine team move setting up Rob Bradburn for a composed flicked finish.
Major then added a second, following Sameer Sheikh’s through ball, to wrap up the points.
A late consolation goal reduced the deficit, but Bury never really looked in danger of throwing away the points.
