Mountain bike racer Joshua Morris has clinched the North West Championship after success in the Men’s Senior section of the North West MTB Series 3 Farmer John’s race.
The English senior champion competed alongside 54 other riders in the Borderline Events contest, which was held in Stockport last month.
On a dry course, Morris secured victory in a time of 1hr 22mins 21secs, a full 1min 12secs ahead of the second-placed rider.
The 20-year-old, from Bury, won the England Seniors Downhill tournament in County Durham in May to qualify for next year’s British Downhill Series.
Morris, who has been competing for two years, races for Specialized Bikes UK and Leisure Lakes Bikes in Bury.
He will now take part in the Farmer John’s big race weekend at the end of August.
