Schoolboy Luke Bartram missed out on the Lancashire Under-14 Boys’ Championship title after losing a close encounter at Greenmount Golf Club.
The 13-year-old Haslingden High School pupil was beaten by Grady Rogerson from Royal Lytham and St Annes after the six handicapper carded a seven-over-par 77 to win by a shot from Rossendale’s Bartram, thanks to a birdie at the 16th.
Forty aspiring youngsters tested their skills and accuracy on narrow tree-lined fairways and short game control on fast, firm greens.
Bartram has been selected to play in the Lancashire Mixed Age squad to face Cheshire at Knutsford today.
