With only six riders available, Glasgow put up a good fight against Bury in their Division Two fixture at Goshen.

After a drawn first heat, Bury rode to two 7-3 heat wins, but Glasgow took another shared heat in race four, before Danny Taylor and David Renc took another 7-3 in the next race.

Glasgow hit back with two drawn heats, before the Taylor and Louis Turner pairing raced away to a further 7-3 in heat eight.

Bury took control of the match, providing the winner in five of the next seven races as Bury ran out convincing 90-60 winners after 15 heats, having either won or drawn all the heats.

James Elston and Danny Taylor were unbeaten with Dawid Renc losing once to Glasgow’s top rider McDougal, while Will Thacker provided excellent support.

Youngsters Louis Turner and Sean Etheridge, riding in his first Division Two, also match rode well.

With Glasgow unable to field any under-13 riders Bury took the win 119-0 with Louis Turner unbeaten on 16 points.

Adam Taylor made a welcome return to claim 15 points and Sean Etheridge and Danny Taylor both took 14 points.

The final Northern 4s fixture takes place at Goshen on Sunday with Bury needing to overcome a 17-point deficit against rivals Stockport. Racing starts at noon.
