BURY racer Steve Whitelegg had to contend with some atrocious weather conditions in the first race event of the year at Oulton Park earlier this month.
The soaked track meant drivers competing in the Legend Championship had a challenge on their hands as they tackled the popular Cheshire race.
The event, which was split into a qualifying session and three heats, saw Whitelegg competing in his number 66 Legend Coupe 1250.
Whitelegg qualified in 14th position for heat one and finished in second place after a battle with winner John Mickel and third-placed John Patterson. He was so consistent he also gained the fastest lap in a time of 2.06.062.
The Bury racer was in good form again in heat two, again challenging Mickel to achieve second place and in the final heat, Whitelegg took third place to claim fourth position overall.
