AFTER a positive start against Leyland a fortnight ago, Bury's Summer League campaign suffered it's first setback this week as Blackburn came out on top in a tight contest.
A poor five-minute period cost Bury, after they had matched the Division Three league champions for the majority of the game.
A hat-trick for the returning Luke Fidler, playing his first game for the club in over a year, had given Bury hope of grabbing a result.
Unfortunately Blackburn, as they had shown during the regular league season, had just too much for Bury, and came out as 5-3 winners.
Bury will look to get their Summer league season back on track next week when they take on hosts Preston, in what promises to be another close encounter.
