BASEMENT club Bury crashed to a 66-0 defeat at second-placed Littleborough on Saturday to slip closer to relegation from Lancashire North.
The result was a small improvement on the reverse fixture, when the Radcliffe Road men were humbled 87-3.
Littleborough started with great intensity, taking an early lead as their winger evaded a number of defenders to finish in the corner for an unconverted try.
Bury pushed forward from the restart with some intricate play from forwards Israr Asif and Oliver Frechini, who inter-linked with backs Alex English and Will Smith.
But after the move broke down the home side worked the ball quickly through the broken defence to double their lead.
Littleborough capitalised on another Bury error to score their third try of the afternoon before the break, scoring the conversion to make it 17-0 at half time.
Littleborough played the conditions well after the break, taking advantage of numerous overlaps to score a flurry of tries.
But Bury heads did not drop, with Chris Potts and Tom Smith leading the fight for the visitors.
They will take a break from the league to face Wallasey in the cup on Saturday.
