LEWIS Bentley became a two-weight Junior British Muay Thai champion after winning the WTKA 34kg title at Club 147 in Salford recently.

The 11-year-old Guardian Angels Primary School pupil in Bury beat Harry Fletcher, of Peel Muay Thai on points in the five-round bout.

His latest victory followed Lewis's title-winning performance to claim the 32kg belt in December last year.

He trains with instructor Luke Phillips at the GFC Muay Thai Centre in Cobden Street, Bury, which also boasts English champion Lewis George, who is number one in the country in the 30kg weight category following his victory over Declan Dawson by a technical knockout at the same show.

Lewis Bentley's dad, Graham Bentley, said: "It is absolutely brilliant to see the lads (Lewis Bentley and Lewis George) doing so well, as both are very talented and are dedicated to their sport.

"GFC is a great place for people of all ages to train at and has some of the most talented fighters in the country.

"Instructors Darren, Maxine and Luke have a wealth of experience and the expertise needed to help anyone reach their end goals.”

Lewis Bentley has been training at GFC Muay Thai for more than four years.

He has lost just once of his eight bouts so far, and is due to fight again on July 16 in Barnsley as part of the Sandee Super Show.
