UNSWORTH Cricket Club are eager to build on their recent success...at football.
The club's under-16s side is one of the leading lights in the highly-regarded Tameside Sunday League.
Last season, they claimed the title in Division A, won the league's Challenge Cup, were finalists in the League Cup and reached the quarter-final in the County Cup.
Unsworth are now looking for quality players in the Bury area to strengthen the side further and are inviting trialists to join them in pre-season training.
Club spokesman Ray Roberts said: "The standard of the league is fantastic, which is evidenced by the fact that six teams out of the top seven reached the County Cup quarter-finals last season.
"Through the success we achieved, eight of our current players have been on trials with league clubs .
"We also started a new team last season where elsewhere teams are folding."
The club's home matches are played on the outfield at Unsworth Cricket Club, where they also train on a Sunday morning or afternoon.
