GFC Muay Thai capped off a fantastic year with a clean sweep of winners at Sandee Supershow Two in Barnsley.
The Cobden Street gym sent five young fighters to the show and came back with five belts, ending the year with 27 wins, one draw and just one defeat from 29 fights.
Lewis George kicked off a run of four junior GFC winners on the night, edging every round of a superb contest with the highly regarded Fred Phillips, of London’s Semtex Gym, to pick up his second British title of the year.
There were also wins for fellow British number ones Lewis Bentley and Kellisha Dodds, while Zaine Mehtab beat an opponent from the North East.
Haidon Wheeldon underlined his promise as one of the best up-and-coming young adult fighters in the country when he exploded into action to stop his opponent in the third round to complete the club’s perfect night.
Bury boxer Scott Quigg started his career at GFC, fighting 80 bouts under the watchful eye of the club’s senior instructor, Darren Phillips, who still helps with his training and works all his corners when he fights.
