LANCASHIRE Spinners threw away a winning position against Bradford in National League One, conceding 12 points without reply in the final three minutes to slump to a 97-94 defeat.

The Bury-based side dropped into the relegation places, falling to second bottom after stretching their losing streak to four matches.

Mark Rangeley did his best to haul Lancashire over the finish line, scoring 24 points and making10 rebounds.

The defence also limited Marcus Gooding, Bradford’s leading scorer at 25.6 points per game, to just 10, but the Dragons had a 21-point contribution from Rihards Sulcs and Ricky Fetske added 20 and 12 rebounds.

Despite trailing by as many as 15 points in the second half, Jason Swaine knocked down a pair of free throws to close the gap to seven with 3mins 11secs remaining and spark Bradford's late rally.

Eisley Swaine capped off the comeback with a jumper that gave the Dragons a 95-94 lead.

The Spinners, however, missed their last six shots from the field, including a game-tying bid for a three-pointer, and a pair of free throws that could have given them a three-point lead with 42 seconds remaining.

Jack Hudson, Zion Tordoff and David Ulph scored 16 points each, while David Walsh added 13.
