DEFENDING champion Jake Pope retained his national junior title at this year's Angling Trust Championships.
The 13-year-old Tottington High School pupil, who is captain of Ramsbottom Angling Club's junior team, swept the board with three gold medals in the under-15s category at Warwick's Tunnel Barns Fisheries.
An almost 50-strong field competed over two lakes at the fisheries.
Jake's catch weighed in at 72lb 4oz, which earned him a section win, lake win and the overall title.
As well as being awarded a trophy, three medals and a tournament cap, Jake also won a Preston's carbon rod and keep net.
