WALSHAW SPORTS' Under-14s have a lot to live up to this season after last year's team claimed an unprecedented treble, adding the Bolton and Bury District League Premier Division title to the Bolton Chairman's Trophy and Lancashire Cup.

Team manager Garry Johnston said: "The treble was testimony to the effort and attitude of the players and the support and commitment of all the parents, who played their part in what was an unbelievable season.

"To go unbeaten in two cups, one being the prestigious LFA Trophy, and to win the highly rated BBDFL Premier Division by five points is something that will be very difficult to repeat.

"They did it by losing only two games the whole season, which is something that they should be very proud of, and has raised the bar very high.

"They will certainly be a hard act to follow."
