Neal Emmerson showed his form again when he won the Tatton 10k on Sunday in 34:56.

The 10k is run on a fast, undulating road closed course in Tatton Park in Cheshire and there were good performances all round for Radcliffe with personal best times.

Chris Whittaker was in ninth place in 37:44, John Gibbs was 15th in 38:59 and Amanda Callan clocked 47:58.

There was a good turnout at the Wardle Skyline Fell Race in Rochdale on Saturday with 14 runners from Radcliffe and there were some good results with Dave McGrath finishing seventh overall out of 142 in 52:15 and Katie Percival finishing fourth woman in 1:03:39.

The tough muddy seven-mile race with 1,250 feet of climbing was the first one in the Run The Moors Grand Prix which the club takes part in throughout the season and runners gained some valuable points.

Following McGrath was Ian Warrington in 23rd place in 56:05 and James Hall in 29th in 57:41.

Andy Haines ran 1:01:46, Peter McNulty (V60) 1:04:27, Mike Kontowtt (V55) 1:04:41, Paul Swyers (V50) 1:05:09, Mauro Rotondi (V45) 1:08:42, John Andrew (V40) 1:10:00, Mark Garner 1:12:11, Mark Wolfenden (V50) 1:16:34, Susanne Andrew (V45) 1:25:03 and Sheila McNulty was first vet-70 in 1:27:34.

Three runners took part in the Rivington 10-Mile Trail Challenge on Sunday on a demanding but scenic course which started from Rivington Village and took in picturesque White Coppice.

Dave Rushton (V50)  clocked 1:25:08, while Caroline Mullineaux (V40) ran 1:46:04 and Wayne Holden finished in 2:04:37.

Two runners were on the high fells of the Lake District on Saturday when they ran the 8.5-mile Coledale Horseshoe Fell Race from Braithwaite with its 3,000 feet of climbing.

Chris Paxton and Kris Lee ran together and finished in a steady 2:22:00, taking in the challenging climbs of Grisedale Pike and Eel Crag and some fast technical descents.

In the midweek Curley's 5k race at Horwich, Lee Cooper clocked 25:25 and Wayne Holden 34:34, doing his second in the series of three from Curley's Dining Rooms. He was eight seconds slower than the week before but there was a lot of mud on the course.

On the same evening Steve Hamer ran his first race as a vet-60 when he took part in the 5k Joe Salt Memorial Cowm Reservoir Race at Whitworth, Rochdale, clocking 24:05.
