IT was a personal best for Radcliffe AC’s George Critchley when he ran the Fleetwood Half Marathon on Sunday.

The run was tough in warm weather but the vet-55 ran 1:43.27, more than two minutes better than his previous times.

Chemane Brier, in training for the Chester Marathon in October, also ran clocking 1:47.00.

Seven members ran the midweek Golf Ball Fell Race in Rossendale with Rob Andrew coming in 41st out of 138 runners in 48:26.

He was followed by Mike Cooke (V40) in 49:46. Dave Bartlett ran 54:13, Fiona Lynch (V40) a good 56:04 closely followed by George Critchley in 56:24, Mark Wolfenden (V45) 57:35 and Steve Hamer (V55) in 59:02.

Rob Lister (V45) took part in the Pontefract Racecourse 5k Parkrun in West Yorkshire coming a great 13th out of 148 runners in a time of 20:52.
