RADCLIFFE Athletic Club's Dave Bartlett battle the weather as well as the course to complete the Lancaster Flood Appeal Half Marathon on Sunday.

He braved extremely wet and cold conditions to clock 1hr 43mins 20secs as part of his build up for the Manchester Marathon in April.

"It was not a personal best, but it was cold and wet and the last mile was up hill," he said.

Other members took on the local 5k parkruns the day before with Peter Hunter coming a fine 17th out of 612 runners at Heaton Park in 20:16.

Chris Fletcher ran 24:44, Tammy Oluyori had a new personal best with 28:05 and Carly Rourke ran 33:43.

At Bolton, Rob Lister clocked 24:37, Kath Davies (V50) made it home in 26:37 and Eileen Royle completed the course in 28:53.

At Worsley Woods, Vince Ashton (V40) ran 25:56, while Iain Harris (V65) clocked 28:42 at Langford Park in Stretford.
