NEAL Emmerson was first of 10 Radcliffe runners home in the Mike Ogle Memorial Race at Chorley, finishing 23rd of 245 competitors in 27mins 28secs.

The event was part of the Central Lancs Grand Prix and covered 4.6 miles on a tough undulating course.

Ian Warrington was next home in 38th, clocking 28:35, followed by vet-40 Rob Shiels in 42nd place with a time of 28:41.

Peter Hunter ran 31:12, John Wrigley 32:46 and Chris Fletcher 37:08.

Eileen Royle's time of 40:17 put her first in the V65 age group.

Ian Hopkinson (V40) finished in 43:01, Tom West was second V75 in 47:08 and Jim Rhodes was third V75 in 58:00.

The men were seventh of 12 teams.

Chris Paxton was the club's first runner home in the Whittle Pike Fell Race, which includes 1,600 feet of climbing in moorland above Cowpe Village in Rossendale.

He finished the challenging five-mile course in 59:49 to take 77th place out of 133 runners.

Kris Lee (V40) was next in 1:00:37 followed by Mark Cartwright (V45) 1:03:19, Katie Percival 1:07:50, Mark Wolfenden (V45) 1:11:25 and Caroline Mullineaux (V40) 1:20:42.

John Andrew completed the Capernwray Sprint Triathlon in Lancaster in 1:20:00. The triathlon included a 500m swim at the Capernwray Diving Centre, a 19k bike ride and 5k run.

Rob Lister ran the Darlington 10k in a time of 43:32.
