RADCLIFFE Athletic Club members Ian Warrington and Chris Paxton showed their dedication to the cause, representing the club at both the Red Rose Cross Country League and Manchester Half Marathon on consecutive days over the weekend.

Warrington led home the club contingent in both events, finishing 77th out of 241 in the men's Red Rose race at Leigh Sports Village on Saturday before completing the half marathon in 1hr 27mins 18secs to claim 309th place.

Paxton was only a few minutes behind his club-mate in the cross country, then completed the half marathon in 1:33:08.

Mark Williams split the two men in Manchester, finishing 22nd Vet 50 in a time of 1:29:54.

Fiona Lynch flew the flag for the Radcliffe women at the Red Rose, finishing second in her age group and 13th overall out of a field of 133 women, helping the club finish 11th in the team race.

Katie Percival was first Radcliffe woman home in the Manchester Half Marathon, finishing in 1:48:09.

In the popular 5k parkruns, Rob Lister ran a personal best at Lytham St Annes, finishing in the top 10 for the first time in a time of 20:25.
