RADCLIFFE Athletic Club's Fiona Lynch was fourth woman home in the challenging 19-mile Wadsworth Trog Fell Race.

She battle through bogs on the moorland course above Hebden Bridge in West Yorkshire, which included with 3,642 feet of climbing, to finish in 3hrs 34mins 47secs.

Lynch just missed out on victory in her age group, finishing second woman vet-40 and 75th overall out of 180 runners.

Mauro Rotondi was pleased with his time of 4:06:44, having taken just over five hours to finish in 2015, when the course was made even more treacherous by snow and ice.

There was a great turnout at the Blackburn Winter Warmer 10k on Sunday, with 16 Radcliffe runners taking part in an event that doubled up as the first of the club's championship races this season.

Neal Emmerson was first Radcliffe member home and 15th overall out of 535 runners in a time of 37:41. Ian Warrington beat his previous best time on the course by two minutes when he clocked 38:34 and was 28th overall. Chris Paxton was next in for Radcliffe with a personal best of more than 40 seconds with 40:51.

Sarah Oxley travelled to Southport for the Mad Dog 10k and clocked 1:00:25, while David Wells took on what he described as a "real toughie" when he competed in the Macclesfield Off Road Duathlon in Macclesfield Forest, finishing 22nd overall and fifth in the class he entered.

Mike Kontowtt travelled further afield and was sixth in the Ganavan Sands Parkrun near Oban, Argyll when he clocked 21:53 – a personal best on the course.

Vince Ashton (V45) went to the seaside for Blackpool's inaugural parkrun – his 37th venue – and ran 25:15.

At Heaton Park, Peter Hunter was first home for Radcliffe in 20:28, followed by Nick Barnes 22:06, Sheila Jones (V60) 25:19, Carly Rourke 28:24, Lucy Dewhurst 29:26 and Tammy Oluyori 29:30.

At Bolton, Grace Williams clocked 27:19, followed by Rob Lister 29:30 and Natalie Hitchen 37:50.
