RADCLIFFE Athletic Club members clocked up the miles this week, and that was even before they started running.

Sarah Oxley travelled to Germany for the Berlin Marathon and achieved her aim, dipping under five-hours to finish in 4hrs 55mins 3secs.

McKenzie Madison, Bev McGrath and Caroline Mullineaux faced a monster challenge in the Festival of Running at Bught Park, Inverness.

Madison and McGrath took on the tough Loch Ness Marathon, braving wet and windy conditions to complete the undulating course in 4:08:26 and 5:25:56, respectively.

Mullineaux, meanwhile, ran the River Ness 10k, clocking 51:09.

A squad of 26 Radcliffe runners kept up the club challenge in the Central Lancs Grand Prix when they took part in the Swinton 5.25-mile Road Race on Sunday.

Neal Emmerson led the group home, finishing sixth out of 181 runners in 29:44, while in the team event the women were third and the men fourth.

Lee Turner teamed up with friend Grant Halliwell to finish third in the Holcombe Mountain Duathlon Relay.

Turner completed the running legs – 8.3k up to Peel Tower and the same in reverse – either side of 27k bike ride, completed by Halliwell. The pair finished the course in 2:31:17.

Nick Barnes was 29th out of 58 in a min-marathon on Cowpe Moor above Rossendale on Sunday, finishing the 13-mile course in just over three hours.

Donna Cartwright was first woman home and 12th overall out of 52 runners in the midweek Roger White Brownhouse Reservoir 5k Race at Whitworth, Rochdale. She completed the course in in 22:09.

Lee turner was next home of the Radcliffe runners in 23:15 to finish 15th, ahead of Sarah Turner, whose time of 26:57 was enough to make her the first woman V45 and 25th overall.

Lisa Carter was second V45 and 27th overall in 27:37.

In the midweek Barrow Bridge 5k at Bolton, Mike Kontowtt was 11th out of 99 and second V50 in 20:00, ahead of Andy Wheeler (V60) in 28:32 and Natalie Hitchen in 32:27.
