KATIE Buckley produced the best run of the day of the Bury Atheltic Club contingent at the English National Cross-Country Championships in London.
She finished 39th in the under-17s women’s race at Parliament Hill.
Christie Cook led the team home in 122nd in the u15s girls’ event, with Eleanor Boyle running well for 214th, edging out team-mate Antonia Kean (227th).
Jack Brown took 179th in the u17s men’s race and Benn Heywood came 208th in the u15s boys’ race.
Bury’s veteran men were in action in the Terry Nortley Race, with Andy Milligan (M45) first home in 28th, finishing the course in 1hr 5mins 37secs to claim sixth in his age category. Les Smalley (M45) finished 52nd, 10th in his age group, in 1.09:57.
